Winter /Snow Routes and Emergency School Closure Information

November 12, 2024 Winlock School District Families and Neighbors, Starting November 18th, until January 18th there will be significant traffic changes due to the closure of N. Military Rd from Nevil Rd to SR 505 by Benaroya Construction. Here’s a summary of the updated traffic flow: • Road Closure: N. Military Rd will be closed between Nevil Rd and SR 505, blocking access from N. Military Rd. • School Entry/Exit: All vehicles must enter at the rear of the Middle School (baseball field) and exit at the front side of the Middle School. • Drop-Off and Pick-Up Locations: ECEAP Students: Please pick up your student by 3:00 p.m. due to bus rider pickup between 3:00-3:30 p.m., which will block the entrance. MS/HS Students: Parents may pick up and drop off students in the back parking lot near the Baseball field. • Route Adjustments for Travelers from SR 505 and Exit 63: Travel west on SR 505, turn right onto Kakela Road, follow it to the end, then turn right onto Nevil Rd, continuing to the first gate near the baseball field. • Student Parking: Students who drive should park in the front middle school parking lot. ECEAP Open Enrollment for Preschool-Aged Children
Attention Families!
We are excited to announce that the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program
(ECEAP) is now accepting applications for open enrollment. Our full-day program is available for preschool-aged children, 3-4 years old.

In December 2022, the federal government authorized a new permanent, nationwide Summer EBT program – also known as SUN Bucks – to support children who lose access to free and reduced-price school meals during the summer months. SUN Bucks is separate from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and provides $120 in food benefits to each eligible child. This amount may be adjusted annually. Similar to SNAP, SUN Bucks is a flexible food benefit that families can use to buy food to help offset rising food costs. Using SUN Bucks also helps bring additional dollars into local economies.

Winlock Schools will be closed today January 17th, 2024, due to icy roads.

The Winlock School District will be running two hours late on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 due to Icy Roads and lower-than-normal temperatures. Buses will be running on snow routes. We will update you with any changes.

February 12-15th Intersession Registration is open for students K-12th grade. Registration is due on January 24th by 4:00 pm. Paper registrations were sent home with all WMES students. Due to hazardous road conditions, Winlock Schools will be closed today, Friday, January 12. All activities and athletics are also canceled today.
